New in version PLASIMO-7.1 (compared to 7.0.0):

New features

  • A new viewer for 2D and 3D plots has been added. The new VTK viewer offers more functionalities compared to the default OpenGL viewer. Among others, there are options for different rendering modes of the mesh, choice for fixed aspect ratio of the plot, usage of cutting planes for mesh intersections, choice for various cutting modes and color controls. The viewer can be activated by clicking with the right mouse button on the data item that needs to be visualized and selecting viewer type VTK.
  • A pathway analysis tool has been added. The pathway model allows you to analyze the chemical reaction chains in complex chemistries. It gives information about the significant pathways in a plasma based on user-specified criteria.
  • An automatic chemistry reduction tool has been added. The reduction of the chemistry is done by analyzing how chemistry reduction (using the pathway analysis tool) affects results from the Global Model in an iterative process. The tool finishes when the final results meet certain constraints and desired accuracy.

CHANGES AND FIXES

  • PLASIMO's build system has been changed to cmake, resulting in improved compilation times and more automated testing.
  • MathPlot viewer: the axes precision, the labels and ticks have been fixed and improved. The labels are now displayed with a prefix such as nano, micro, milli, etc.
  • Global Model: The processes that are taken into account by default in the wall processes (ReactionList [FloatingWall]), respect element and mass conservation
  • Every reaction list can optionally be named, allowing easy reference to the model data in the GUI.

INPUT FILE CHANGES

(backward compatible changes till PLASIMO 8.0 )

  • Global Model
    • The EEDF section has been moved outside of section [Mixture].
  • Drift-Diffusion module
    • The EEDF section has been moved outside of section [Mixture]
    • Initial densities can now be specified in section [DischargeRegion][InitialDensties]
    • An optional section [DischargeRegion][TimeSlicing] allows to use time slicing technique for specified species
    • Section [DischargeRegion][TransportModel] specifies the type of transport model to be used: DriftDiffusion or DriftDiffusionInertia. If not specified, the default transport model DriftDiffusion is used.
